I’m usually always in Washington, D.C., only because I work in the city. I work at Urban Outfitters in the heart of Chinatown, so yes, I’m near the big golden Chinese arch that welcomes all tourists, residents, and people who are pleased to re-visit one of the main attractions of D.C. When I am not working and I’m in the city, I love to explore other parts of D.C. which never seems to disappoint me. It was a Thursday when I went out with a few of my co-workers and friends for happy-hour. On our way to our destination, a friend and I were just walking to the nearest station, which was Shaw-Howard University, when I wanted her to snap some photos of me in my new dress as we’re walking in a neighborhood. I saw this one house that sort of looked abandoned and thought that was the perfect scenery to capture my full look. It was hot that day too, and found a way to still look, comfy and cool for my look of the day.
About the Dress: I stumbled upon this dress at work; I was working actually too! I had no intention to shop (which is usually my intention if I’m not helping customers, ha! ha!), but a lady had just returned a couple of dresses from our online store and they were surprisingly my style and size. I checked the price so I can put a price tag on them, and they came up as (hold your breath!), $9.99!! As soon as I got off work, I knew I had to buy this dress.
I had the dress for a couple months now, and knew I could pull this asymmetrical double-layer dress off while wearing it either up or down (dressy or casual), so I first wore it as a casual look. What I like about the dress is of course its structure, how comfortable it is and the fact that it is long-sleeve, which means I can pull this dress off in the Fall too! I also love how it is a deep v-neck in the bust area, which makes the dress more feminine.
The Only Problem About the Dress: I think I might have an idea why the person who previous owned the dress returned it, because no matter how fast or how slow I walk, the dress rises (sad face). For any woman who wants to wear the sexiest or flyest dress in her closet, absolutely hates having to keep pulling down her dress; It’s a task on its own! So I have to be careful about where I’m at when wearing this dress. I will just have to find a way to deal with having to keep pulling down my dress.
